Review:
Siblings Simon, Patricia, Evelyn and Larry are evacuated during the Blitz in 1945. They end up in a massive house owned by a female professor. When Larry stumbles upon an old library door, nobody believes him until the professor tells them about an old man who people called a magician, who went through the door about a hundred years ago and never came back.
When British soldiers suddenly arrive at the house and start shooting, the children hide in the top room. Just as a soldier comes thumping up the stairs, the magic library door appears. Escaping through, Larry leads the others to the “Read” aisle where he went before and they end up in a field where the adventure really begins…
The story was exciting and I would recommend it to anyone who likes adventures.
